The French coined the phrase le troisieme age to relate to the third segment of a life, the first being the growing up and getting educated phase, and the second the income-producing career phase. 3rd Age Press was established to provide information and motivation to those beginning, or those who have already begun, their "third age" – which some call retirement.

The overall vision of 3rd Age Press is to improve the quality of life for the individual and for society by informing and motivating retirees about ways they can be more productive for themselves and for others.
